In addition to Charles Atlas exhibition Scary, Scary, Community Fun, Death, three screenings will be held to illustrate the cinematic diversity of Atlas' work. The program "Documentation of Dance" focuses on the artist's trend-setting dance documentaries. Based on his work for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Atlas developed new forms of documenting dance: he actively follows the individual dancers and their movements with the camera. His videos reinterpret the choreographies for the medium of video and play with the latest technical possibilities. The choreographies of the films shown are all by Merce Cunningham, and in Blue Studio: Five Segments (1976) he himself as pioneer of contemporary dance can be seen as a solo dancer.

The film program was curated by art historian Elsa Himmer.
