Drawing on principles of video game design, improvisation, and Darwinian brutality, Ian Cheng (b.1984, USA) has developed so-called “live simulations”. In his first solo exhibition in Switzerland, Cheng presents a new piece. 

Collection on Display presents selected art from the collection of the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. Titled Momentary Monuments, it showcases works by Christine Borland, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Dani Gal, Christian Jankowski, Fabrice Gygi, Mathilde ter Heijne, Ragnar Kjartansson, Teresa Margolles, Henrik Olesen, and Thomas Schütte.

6–8 p.m. Children’s vernissage: The Atelier on the basement floor welcomes our little visitors with creative activities that playfully explore contemporary art (children ages 3 and up).
