One year after the symposium Please Worry! Neue Wege für die Kunstausbildung at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst we are happy to announce the publication of the On Radical Education issue of journal Performance Research with contributions from the symposium, and other articles from international contributors. The launch will mark current research on the F+F School for Art and Design and alternatives in art education at IFCAR (Institute for Contemporary Art Research) at ZHdK. We are pleased to invite you to this event hosted by the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, and celebrate the launch of the journal issue with us!

Dr. des. Michael Hiltbrunner is a cultural anthropologist and art scholar at the Institute for Contemporary Art Research at ZHdK. He also works as an independent curator (Helmhaus Zurich) and lectures on art theory and cultural analysis.

Ric Allsopp is a co-founder and joint editor of Performance Research. He is an independent writer, editor and teacher. Since the 1980s he has held teaching and research positions at Dartington College of Arts.

Guided by the visual artist Chantal Küng, the Seminar other classrooms in the master’s programin Art Education at ZHdK explores educational settings at ZHdK and discusses artisticstrategies in education and critical or radical pedagogies.

SIN CURRÍCULO (OHNE LEHRPLAN) is an art/education project in the form of a temporary school in Cali Colombia and in Zürich Switzerland that questions the traditional concept of education that conceives students as containers into which educators must put knowledge. Departing from the question how does a school/classroom look like without a curriculum and how such a space impacts and affect the micro-politics and transculturality of the city? This project aims to open a space of agency, inter-cultural understanding, autonomy and self-discovery through collective creation, discussion and action.
