Das schlaue Tier und seine Feinde (2015)

(free admission, limited seating, duration ca. 30 minutes)

In a highpowered tour de force, Claus Richter will switch back and forth between the worlds of the puppet stage, paper theater, and human acting to bring the various characters of his new play Das schlaue Tier und seine Feinde (The Shrewd Animal and Its Enemies) to life. In this premiere, Richter, who has written and produced several puppet and marionette plays over the past few years, mounts a noholdsbarred battle of the stages.

Claus Richter (b. Lippstadt, Germany, 1971; lives and works in Cologne) studied at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. His work has previously been exhibited at Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2014), Clages Gallery, Cologne (2013), the Leopold Hoesch Museum, Düren (2010), and Archive für aktuelle Kunst, Frankfurt am Main (2007).
