Displaced Fractures - On the Break Lines of Architecture and its Bodies

The catalogue authors examine and enlarge on the basis of the in the represented artists the discourse between sculpture, installation and architecture and their reciprocal effects. What predominates here is the field of tension between the refusal of form and monumental creations, between subjective and formal rational gestures. Starting point for the debate is established by the medical term Displaced Fractures. It describes how bone fracture sites reveal themselves elsewhere to that of the major stress site. The works discussed in this catalogue can be described with this phenomena and can be read as surrogates of the human body.
